Art Focus: ‘Romance under the Blossom Tree’ by Georges Picard

This lovely painting of a couple kissing underneath a blossoming tree is by French artist, Georges Picard (1857-1946) who studied under the artist Albert Besnard. Picard painted in oil and pastel and particularly favoured paintings of children, flowers, orchards and nudes. His work was well received and appreciated for its harmony of colour and vitality of line.
