Poetry Moment: Fly with the Wind

Waves of the heavens,
Invisible stirrings
of air and clouds.
You that fly over valleys
and make mountains tremble.
Sweep me along
the edge of light.
Mount me on
a steed of shadow
to race the length of the sky.
Then I will partake of your presence,
Gallop on the jagged peaks,
Surf the reefs,
Touch the forests,
And peep into the world’s secret heart.
And when I’m done,
I’ll seed the earth with rain
and commune quietly with the roots.

– Inspired by the odes of Pablo Neruda (1904 – 1973)
