Small Worlds: The Hidden Beauty of Tiny Forest Fungi

There’s a magical world at our feet when we walk the wet forest floor. Drawn to the diversity of mushrooms and myxomycetes (slime molds), photographer Alison Pollack spends time in the forest searching for new species to capture. As she walks slowly, she keeps an eye out for her tiny subjects, which often measure just 1 or 2 millimeters tall. Using techniques of extreme macro photography, Pollack captures breathtaking images of a hidden world that is rarely seen.
