“Lady on a Swing in the Monsoon” is a Pujabi watercolor painting dating to the mid-18th century. The painting depicts a woman joyously rocking through the air on a swing that hangs from a blooming tree as her friends look on. The title of the painting alludes to the end of the dry season as the cause for celebration. With the monsoon approaching, everything will once again bloom and grow.
