There is romance and poetry around us if we care to look. They are there in our living rooms and kitchen floor where sunlight plays over, on the window ledge looking out to the garden, on the weather-beaten surface of an old tree trunk, on grubby street walls scrawled with graffiti “art”, in a chic café tucked between two shabby buildings, and countless other familiar places we tend to overlook. In a world that keeps rushing, how refreshing it is to slow down to notice what is ordinary, authentic and yes, poetic in their own quirky ways.
