Photography: The Poetry of Shadows and Silhouettes

Photography’s power to capture our attention lies not only in what is reveals but also what is concealed. Shadows and silhouettes are not simply darkened shapes against the light. They are as alive as the light itself. They draw our eyes to the way light plays, giving us striking images when there’s no better way to express a feeling or a mood.

We want to live in the light. but sometimes the shadow too is beautiful, the way it consecrates the concrete of life in its quiet ways.
